Council for the Elderly and Disabled

Kustavi has a council for the elderly and the disabled, the aim of which, according to section 27 of the Municipal Act, is to promote the participation and influence of the elderly population in decision-making in the municipality. The Council for the Elderly and Disabled influences the planning, preparation and monitoring of the activities of the various branches of the municipality in matters that are important for the well-being, health, inclusion, living environment, housing or mobility of the elderly population or the services they need.

Council members have the opportunity to participate in training to support advocacy work. The Council regularly invites experts from various fields to its meetings, in addition to fact-finding visits to various sites.

The Council for the Elderly and the Disabled meets a few times a year. Notes of the meetings are available on the municipality’s website.
