Kustavi Archipelago Museum

Welcome to the history of the archipelago!

The main building of the archipelago museum represents a double-bedded building typical of the area’s architecture.

Kustavi Archipelago Museum is a local museum of cultural history maintained by the municipality of Kustavi.

The museum’s collection consists of objects and documents collected and donated from the Kustavi area, which tell about the life and livelihood of the area in the past. On display are goods brought by sailors from their voyages, as well as tools and other artefacts related to the everyday life of the archipelago.

The museum is open during the summer, from midsummer to the end of August. At other times, guided tours are available on request.

The museum is located on the island of Vartsala, in the village of South Vartsala, along the old Postitie. The island is a short ferry ride from the center of Kustavi and the museum is easy to reach either by bike or by car.
