Adequate and well-targeted social and health services promote and maintain the well-being of local residents at different stages of their lives.
In the production and organization of services, emphasis is placed on preventive services that support survival at home.
The social welfare board is responsible for the municipality’s social services.
The Uusikaupunki Health Board is responsible for the duties of the institution in accordance with the Public Health and Health Care Act and acts as the municipal institution responsible for the control of communicable diseases in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act. The Health Board consists of representatives of the five municipalities in the co-operation area of health services; Uusikaupunki, Kustavi, Pyhäranta, Taivassalo and Vehmaa.
